| RIGHT TO INFORMATION ACT Right to information act, 2005 provide for setting out the practical regime of right to Information under the control of public authorities in order to promote transparency and accountability in the working of every public authority. An applicant who deserves to obtain any information under RTI Act 2005 can submit an application but only to government – departments and other public authorities of Government of Karnataka. On submission of a RTI application unique registration number will be issued which may be referred by the applicant for any future reference The application filed through this RTI will reach to the nodal officer of the college. The nodal officer will transmit the RTI application to the concerned PIO (Public Information Officer) PIO are officers designated by the public authorities in all administrative units or offices under it to provide information to the citizens requesting for information under the act. PIO on receipts of a request shall an as expeditiously as possible and in any case within 30 days of the receipt of the request either provide the information on payment of such fee as maybe prescribed or reject the request for any of the reasons specified which is exact from disclosure Right to information includes the right to 1. Inspect works documents records. 2. Take notes, extracts or certified copies of documents or records 3. Take certified samples of material. 4. Obtain information in the form of print outs, diskettes, floppies, tapes, video cassets or in any other electronic mode or through print outs.
