ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳನ್ನು ಕಾಡುವ ಸಮಸ್ಯೆಗಳು ಅವರ ಶೈಕ್ಷಣಿಕ ಯಶಸ್ಸಿಗೆ ಅಡೆತಡೆ ಒಡ್ಡುತ್ತವೆ. ಅತೃಪ್ತಿಕರ ಬೋಧನೆ, ಗ್ರಹಣ ಸಾಮರ್ಥ್ಯದ ಕೊರತೆ, ಕಾಲೇಜುಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಸೌಲಭ್ಯಗಳ ಅಭಾವದಿಂದ ಮೊದಲುಗೊಂಡು ಸಂಪನ್ಮೂಲಗಳ ನ್ಯೂನತೆ, ದುರಭ್ಯಾಸಗಳು, ಮದ್ಯ/ಮಾದಕವಸ್ತುಗಳ ವ್ಯಸನ, ಉನ್ನತ ವಿದ್ಯಾಭ್ಯಾಸ ಹಾಗೂ ಉದ್ಯೋಗಗಳ ಕುರಿತು ಮಾಹಿತಿಯ ಅಭಾವ, ಅಸಫಲ ಸಂಬಂಧಗಳು, ಏಕಾಂಗಿತನ, ಖಿನ್ನತೆ, ಆತ್ಮಹತ್ಯಾ ಪ್ರವೃತ್ತಿ,ಇವೇ ಮೊದಲಾದ ಭಾವನಾತ್ಮಕ ಏರುಪೇರುಗಳವರೆಗೆ ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳು ಹಲವು ಮೂಲಗಳಿಂದ ಸಮಸ್ಯೆಗಳನ್ನು ಎದುರಿಸುತ್ತಾರೆ. ಸರ್ಕಾರಿ ಪ್ರಥಮ ದರ್ಜೆ ಕಾಲೇಜುಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಪದವಿ ಮತ್ತು ಸ್ನಾತಕೋತ್ತರ ಸ್ತರಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ವ್ಯಾಸಂಗ ಮಾಡುವ ಹಲವು ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳು ಸಾಮಾಜಿಕ ಮತ್ತು ಆರ್ಥಿಕ ಸಂಕಷ್ಟವುಳ್ಳ ಕುಟುಂಬಗಳಿಂದ ಬರುತ್ತಾರೆ. ಇವರಲ್ಲಿ ಅನೇಕರು ಕುಟುಂಬದಲ್ಲಿ ವಿದ್ಯಾಭ್ಯಾಸ ಪಡೆಯುತ್ತಿರುವ ಮೊದಲ ಪೀಳಿಗೆಗೆ ಸೇರಿದವರಾಗಿರುತ್ತಾರೆ. ಇವರಲ್ಲಿ ಹಲವರು ತಮ್ಮ ಸುತ್ತಮುತ್ತಲಿರುವ ಹಿರಿಯರ ಬಳಿ ತಮ್ಮ ಸಮಸ್ಯೆಗಳನ್ನು ಹೇಳಿಕೊಳ್ಳಲು ಹಿಂಜರಿಯುತ್ತಾರೆ.  ಸಂಬಂಧಪಟ್ಟ  ಅಧಿಕಾರಿಗಳ  ಮುಂದೆ  ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳು  ತಮ್ಮ  ಅಳಲುಗಳನ್ನು ತೋಡಿಕೊಂಡರೂ ಪ್ರಯೋಜನವಾಗದೆ ಇರುವ ಪ್ರಸಂಗಗಳೂ ಅಪರೂಪವೇನಲ್ಲ. ಹೀಗೆ ಸಮಸ್ಯೆಗಳಸುಳಿಗಳಲ್ಲಿ  ಸಿಲುಕಿರುವ  ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳು  ಆತ್ಮವಿಶ್ವಾಸ ಹೀನರಾಗಿ,  ಖಿನ್ನರಾಗಿ,  ಅಸಹಾಯಕತೆಯಿಂದ  ಆವೃತರಾಗಿ,  ತಮ್ಮ ಅಂತಃಸತ್ವಕ್ಕೆ ಸರಿದೂಗುವಂತೆ ಅಧ್ಯಯನದಲ್ಲಿ ತೊಡಗಲು ಅಸಮರ್ಥರಾಗುತ್ತಾರೆ.


ಈ  ಸಮಸ್ಯೆಯನ್ನು    ಪರಿಹರಿಸುವ  ನಿಟ್ಟಿನಲ್ಲಿ   ಇಲಾಖೆ   ಅರ್ಥಪೂರ್ಣವಾದ   ನಿಲುವನ್ನು   ತಳೆದು,   ಸರ್ಕಾರಿ   ಪ್ರಥಮ  ದರ್ಜೆ  ಕಾಲೇಜುಗಳ  ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳಿಗಾಗಿ ಮೈತ್ರಿ ಎಂಬ ಹೆಸರಿನ 24*7 ಸಹಾಯವಾಣಿಯನ್ನು ಪ್ರಾರಂಭಿಸಿದೆ.

ಈ   ಸಹಾಯವಾಣಿಯ   ಶುಲ್ಕರಹಿತ  ಸಂಖ್ಯೆ   1800-425-6178.   ಕೆಲಸದ ದಿನಗಳಂದು,   ಕಛೇರಿ   ವೇಳೆಯಲ್ಲಿ   ಆಪ್ತಸಲಹೆಯಲ್ಲಿ  ತರಬೇತಿ  ಪಡೆದ  ಇಲಾಖೆಯ ಸಿಬ್ಬಂದಿ ಕರೆಗಳನ್ನು ಸ್ವೀಕರಿಸುತ್ತಾರೆ. ಈ ಕುರಿತು ಸಂಬಂಧಪಟ್ಟಅಧಿಕಾರಿಗಳು ಸೂಕ್ತ ಕ್ರಮ ಕೈಗೊಳ್ಳುವಂತೆ ವಿಷಯ ಸಂವಹನ ಮಾಡಲಾಗುತ್ತದೆ.

 

Academic success of students is often compromised by problems entrapping them. Students encounter troubles from several sources starting from below-par teaching,   difficulty  in   understanding   subjects   taught,  lack of basic amenities in colleges,want of resources, harmful habits, addiction to  drugs/alcohol,   failed  relationships,  emotional   distresslike  loneliness, depression, suicidal tendency, lack of guidance regarding Higher studies and career. Most students pursuing Undergraduate and Postgraduate education hail from socially and economically constrained background.  Many  are  first  generation  learners.  Some among them may not muster courage to approach elders around and confide in them.

 

Instances   of   students   divulging   their   problems   to  concerned  authorities only to have the issue ignored subsequently is not an infrequent occurring. Also, Diffident, depressed and mired in helplessness, students become incapable of performing to their optimum. As a meaningful  intervention,  the  Department  has  set  up  a  Helpline called ‘Maithri’ for the students of Government First Grade Colleges.

 

The  Toll  free  number  of  this  Helpline is   1800-425-6178.   Any  student  in need of support can call this helpline at zero cost. On working days during  working  hours, the staff   trained in counselling  receive  and record the incoming calls. The matter is also followed up with the concerned officials.
