Bringing Information to the Citizens

   Right to Information Act 2005 mandates timely response to citizen requests for government information. It is an initiative taken by the Department of Personnel and Training, Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances, and Pensions to provide a– RTI Portal Gateway to the citizens for quick search of information on the details of first Appellate Authorities, IOS, etc. amongst others, besides access to RTI related information/disclosures published on the web by various Public Authorities under the government of India as well as the State Governments.

The Objectives  of the Right to Information Act 

  The basic of the Right to Information Act is to empower the citizens, promote transparency and accountability in the working of the Government, contain corruption, and make our democracy work for the people in a real sense. It goes without saying that an informed citizen is better equipped to keep necessary vigil on the instruments of governance and make the government more accountable to the governed. The Act is a big step toward making the citizens informed about the activities of the Government.

 Our college is affiliated to Kuvempu University, Shankaraghatta, Shivamogga district of Karnataka State since 2013-14. The college discharges its functions in accordance with the rules and regulations established by Kuvempu University and amended from time to time and instructions/ orders issued by Department of Collegiate Education, Government of Karnataka.

Major activities:

 The major activities are in accordance with the vision and mission of the college that is to provide opportunities for the rural students and hence each family in and around Sagar, may have graduates and postgraduates.

• Higher education up to the level of graduation is provided from our college to the students of all sections of the community without any discrimination.
• Many training and empowerment activities are conducted in order to create skill based employees and entrepreneurs.
• Communal harmony is established through NSS, Rangers and Rovers Unit, Sports and Value Education,Cultural Programmes, Association Meetings and Extension Activities.
• Through quality education, skill training and awareness building programmes, upliftment of socially and economically suppressed students and their parents is being ensured.

Our College is a Government Co-educational institution which is affiliated to Kuvempu University, Shankaraghatta, Shivamogga District, Karnataka State. It runs as per rules and regulations declared by the Govt. of Karnakata. The College comes under “Government College” category. The College has different Bodies to maintain all types of disciplines in the campus. All the cells/committees of the institution are under Statutory Bodies and come under section 4(1) (b) of RTI Act, 2005. The applications submitted under the RTI Act along with a postal order/demand draft for Rs.10.00 obtained in favour of Principal, Government First Grade College, Sagar will be properly responded on time. All information about the college under Section 4 (1 ) (b) of RTI Act, 2005 is open to the public and it can be obtained by any citizen of India.
