LAL BAHADUR SHASTRI ROVER SCOUTS AND GUIDES WING

   The Bharat Scouts & Guides is a voluntary, non-political, educational movement for young people, open to all without distinction of origin, race or creed ,in accordance with the purpose, principles and methods conceived by the Founder Lord Baden Powell in 1907. Purpose: The purpose of the Movement is to contribute to the development of young people in achieving their full physical, intellectual, social and spiritual potentials as individuals, as responsible citizens and as members of local, national and international communities.

The Govt. of Karnataka and The Bharath Scouts and Guides, Karnataka jointly introduced a Scout and Guides for the Degree College Students.  The Bharath Scouts and Guides headquarters, has organised the basic Rower Scout Leaders training Course Scheduled at Dr. Annie Besant, Scouts and Guides State Training Centre, Doddaballapur, from 8th December 2012 to 15th December 2012. On this basis the Dept. of Collegiate Education circulated the order and the colleges initiated to start the Scout Wing in their respective colleges.  Even in our college, deputed Prof. K.Vikram, Dept. of Commerce and Management to undergo a Rower Scout Leadership Training Course. After the completion of the training successfully, received a rank as  “Rower Scout Leader”.

The committee was formed under the chairmanship of the principal, Prof. N. Ramegowda, Prof .K.Vikram as Cooridinator, sir. Ravindranath Physical Educational Director, and Sir. Rajakanteerava –office superintendent as members of the committee.

 The following students have enrolled as first batch to Rower Scout for the year 2012-13.

The major Activities

  1. Uniforms were distributed from the college.Basic theory classes were conducted, Scout parade was conducted on weekly basic.
  2. Our  scout rovers regularly participate in cleaning of the college premises and make the campus environmental friendly by joining the hands with NSS wing.
  3. The scout wing without letting their spirit down actively participated in the independence day celebration. Their service will be extended in stage arrangement and other. They also perform the  skit regarding importance of scout laws and personal ethics and morals.
  4. The scout wing set a practical example by upholding the patriotic spirit through participating in programmes like Kannada rajyotsava and Republic day.
  5. The scout wing conducted activities based on communal harmony fortnight which was to create an awareness for communal issues in the young minds in the college campus .The participants were also made to take oath on communal harmony to bring a peaceful.
  6. Our Scout rovers participated in “National Disaster Reduction Day” in Bangalore City on 06-02-2015 at Sir Kanteerava Out Door Stadium, Bangalore.
  7. Rovers were participated in 27th Karnataka State Jamborette 2015. Our rovers were considered as the best rovers and certificate received from Hon’ble Chef minister of Karnataka.
  8. Our college rovers participated in Thinking Day & World Brotherhood day on 22nd February 2015 at Shanthi Gruha Giude HQ, Bangalore.
  9. At present the total rovers in the college is 28. The  students selected from different streems of BA, Bsc, B.Com, BBM.
