Government First Grade College for Women, Ramanagara was established in the year 2007 by the Department of Collegiate Education, Bangalore to cater to the educational needs of girl students of Ramanagara. Affiliated to Bangalore University, the college offers degree courses to students from the surrounding villages in Ramanagara. With its aim to reach out to girl students from rural areas in and around Ramanagara who had no access to higher education, the college started functioning from within the premises of Government Girls Composite High School, Ramanagara. The first batch of 50 students graduated in 2008. With strength of about 350 students currently, the college has grown from its humble origins emerging as a reputed Institute in Ramanagara, sought after by girl students for its student friendly atmosphere and quality education.
