DEPARTMENT OF COLLEGEATE AND TECHNICALEDUCATION GOVERNMENT LAW COLLEGE, RAMANAGARA -562128 Code of conduct for the Teaching staff 1. All Teaching staff of the college should maintain harmonious relations with other teaching staff and students. 2. Teaching staff should maintain confidentiality in conduct of examination and any other Information, unless asked to reveal by the institutional authority. 3. All teaching staff should follow the instructions and directions of the higher authority like the Commissioner, Director, Joint Director, Additional Director and any other officials of the Department of Collegiate Education, Government of Karnataka. 4. All the teaching staff should constructively contribute toward the development of the college and university. 5. All the teaching staff should strictly adhere to the academic requirement of the institution and maintain the sanctity of academic environment. 6. Teaching staff must maintain high standards of punctuality, honesty and professional ethics. 7. They should work within the institutional policies and practices, so as to satisfy the vision and mission of the institute. 8. Teaching staff must ensure that they are dressed decently, safely and appropriately for the tasks they undertake. 9. Teaching staff should co-operate and collaborate with colleagues and external agencies, necessary to support the development of the college and students. 10. Teaching staff should act in a professional and congenial manner towards colleagues, irrespective of their relative position, gender or status within the institutional hierarchy. 11. All the teaching staff shall extend their services for the welfare of the community & society at large. 12. All the teaching staff should properly maintain the records of respective portfolio. 13. All the teaching staff should try for the continuous development through training programs, workshops and research and development activities. Code of Conduct for Non-Teaching Teaching staff 1. All non-teaching staff should follow the instructions and directions of the higher authority like the Commissioner, Director, Joint Director, Additional Director and any other officials of the Department of Collegiate Education, Government of Karnataka. 2. All the non-teaching staff should remain present in the college, at least 30 min before the commencement of the college. 3. The Non-teaching staff should follow the instructions from the higher authorities. 4. They should carry out the assigned work with complete zeal. 5. They should be regular and punctual and carryout the work allotted to them on time. 6. They should maintain professional ethics in the campus and should maintain proper behaviour in the authorities and students. 7. They should carry out additional work assigned to them. 8. Carrying out the responsibilities assigned time to time. CODE OF CONDUCT FOR STUDENTS 1) Students should wear college identity cards during the class, examinations, library hours and college programmes. 2) Students should report the college before 10.00 and compulsory attend the Assembly and maintain silence during prayer. 3) Dress code & Disciplinary code. Students are expected to attend the College neatly dressed, keeping in mind with approved etiquette. 4) Students should have to maintain at least 75% class attendance for each subject in order to appear for the university final examination. 5) Respect the belongings of other students, teachers, staff or college. Stealing or any damage done to the college property from students or the college will cause suspension or dismissal from the college. 6) The use of drugs, alcohol or tobacco products are strictly prohibited on the campus. Violation of this rule can affect in suspension or dismissal from the college. 7) Ragging or any forms, physical, emotional, verbal, sexual harassment or violence is strictly prohibited on the campus and the local police department will be notified in case of violation. The enforcement of this rule is based on the recommendations of the University Grants Commission (UGC). 8) Sexual Misconduct, Including Sexual Harassment, Sexual Assault, Sexual Exploitation, Indecent Exposure, Intimate Partner Violence, Dating Violence and Domestic Violence, Retaliation, Stalking, and Other Misconduct that is Sex or Gender Based, or in the context of an Intimate Partner Relationship Including: Bullying and Intimidation, Stalking, Physical Assault and Discrimination. The enforcement of this rule is based on the recommendations of the University Grants Commission (UGC). 9) The use of plastics and its products are strictly prohibited on the campus. Students are responsible for the safety of their own goods. 10) Students are required to respect teachers. Use of physical force and/or foul language against teachers and other employees of the college are strictly forbidden. Such actions can effect in the dismissal of the students from the college. 11) In order to promote a healthy and suitable environment of study, the use of mobile phones is restricted to the campus. Students should not use mobile phones in the college block, library, and dining hall; violation of this will attract hefty fines; college authorities will not entertain any explanation. College authorities will not be responsible for any personal damage or problem caused by the use of the phone. 12) Students are expected to respect the allotted days or deadlines, the violation of which will attract fines or any other disciplinary action as the management deems fit. 13) To promote harmony and to provide a secure environment for education, politics or political activities are not allowed on the college campus. 14) Students have to greet other students and all the members of the college and school community appropriately. 15) Students are expected to participate in/cooperate with all activities of the college. Absenting will be viewed by the college authority very seriously. 16) Students are expected to be in the place where they are supposed to be as per the college schedule. 17) Fees once paid will not be refunded under any circumstances. Delay in payment of fees will attract fine besides not issuing the hall ticket for exams and TC. 18) The students understand that college authorities will assume that students have taken permission from their parents/guardians to go for on-campus and off-campus programs/NSS/any other activities organized by the college.
