ABOUT THE BHARAT SCOUTS AND GUIDES
The Bharat Scouts & Guides is a voluntary, non-political, educational Movement for young people, open to all without distinction of origin, race or creed in accordance with the purpose, principles and methods conceived by the Founder Lord Baden Powell in 1907. Rovers and Rangers is a branch of The Bharat Scouts and Guides.
The Bharat Scouts and Guides is a voluntary organization and makes the Scouts and Guides resourceful self-reliant, ever helpful towards other. It helps to discover their talent faculties and talents as well as encourages them express the same creativity.
In our college, Rovering and Rangering started from the academic year 2014 – 15. Each unit will have 24 Rovers and 24 Rangers. Ranger Leader Shubha.S is incharge of Rovers and Rangers in our College. She is been awarded as the Assistant Leader Trainer (ALT) for Ranger Section from the state of Karnataka.
Some of the activities conducted are regular weekly classes, Nipun Testing camps, Students participation in Rajyapuraskar testing camps, Annual Rovers and Rangers moot organized by our Bangalore North district, Trekking camps, Disaster Management Training Course, underwent HAM radio course, visit factories like tea factory, leather factories, garment factories, etc., conduct rally for river, messenger of peace, voters awareness, etc., Swaachatha programme, Participate in YOGA day, organize Blood donation camps, Eye Check-up, Dental check-up, All-Faith-Prayers, participate in JOTA JOTI international activities, etc.
