‘Knowledge is supreme’.

Education is a continuous process. Quality, skill and transformation are the central focus of higher education. To churn out the talents of younger generation and to groom them through skill-based quality education, is the aim of our institution. In this direction, our college is striving towards transforming the young girls into empowered individuals.

The then Maharaja of Mysore, Nalvadi Krishnaraja Odeyar established this premier institution for women education in 1938. Today, the institution has spread its branches in all directions with its UG and PG courses, along with Research Centres in many disciplines. More than 3000 students are a part of this institution pursuing their education in BA, B Com, BBA, MA, M Com, M Sc and MBA courses. The institutions takes pride in running 8 Post-Graduate courses and being recognised as Research Centre in History, Economics along with Commerce and Management. The college also caters to the needs of students who wish to pursue their music interests during their UG course as an optional subject. The college offers 7 diverse language options at the UG level.  

The college has been accredited with ‘A’ grade for two consecutive terms. Some of the students who graduated from this institution have carved a nische for themselves at the State, National and International levels in the field of academics, sports and culture. The college houses well-furnished library, reading room, hostel, bank, canteen, health centre, stadium and many other facilities.

Our ambition is to develop this college as a model institution for women education by rendering quality education and skill-based training. We wish to ensure employability to all students and groom them into self-dependent individuals. Let us move towards the goal, “Education for All” set by the Government of Karnataka.
