The Government First Grade College, Kudur is located at Kudur, a hobli head quarter in Magadi Taluk, Ramanagara District. This College being first of its kind for Kudur and surrounding villages was established in 1992 by Government of Karnataka vide order no:ED 47 UDC 92 Dated: 6-7-1992 under the administrative control of the Directorate of Collegiate Education. The Vision of the Government was to impart Higher education to rural, backward and under privileged students and to change rural generation to changing global needs.
Kudur is 22 K.m from Magadi, well known for Sri Kempegowda who constructed Bendakaluru, the present Bangalore City. Kudur is a historical place, formerly known as Byravana Durga/Turaga Pura/ Kudur, the place where military horses were bred.
The College was started with 33 Students at the neighbouring Government Junior College with BA HEP combination and Affiliated to Bangalore University. The College was shifted to own premises in 2001 after two rooms constructed by MP Grant and four rooms constucted by the donors. The college has been named as “Smt. Neelamma Kudur K.A Sathyanarayana Setty Government First Grade College”.
