STRENGTH  WEAKNESS  OPPORTUNITIES CHALLENGES

The college has the necessary infrastructure required to accommodate the growing number of students.

• The institution has 2(f) and 12(B) status

• The institution offers undergraduate and postgraduate Degree Courses in Arts, Science, Commerce & Management and Computer Science Applications.

• Most of the faculty members are BOS and BOE committee Chairpersons & members

• Teachers are actively involved in research activities, more than 100 research papers have been published in reputed peer reviewed national and international journals. There are five research guides.

• The College hasbeen hosting several National Seminars and workshops.

• Most of the staff members have taken up and completed several minor projects.

• NCC, NSS, Youth Red Cross, Rovers and Rangers units are very much functional.

• Availability of Network Resource Centre, skill development lab, Mathematics lab and well established computer labs.

• Excellent results with students bagging ranks and gold medals every year.

• Several departments and the placement cell have been conducting certificate courses for students.

• The college has a well-equipped library with inflibnet and the campus is Wi-Fi enabled.

• Cultural activities & Theatre club offering add on course on theatre activities

• IQAC organizes STC and FDP programmes for teaching staff and training workshops for non- teaching staff.

• Each department organizes workshops, seminars and webinars every year.

• “Siri”magazine brings out the student’s write-ups.

• Hitaishi- the student counselling cell is vibrant.

• Women empowerment cell,Anti-harassment cell and Anti- ragging cell areactive.

• The department of Sociology and Women’s cell conductGender Sensitization programs every year.

• Mega Job Mela and campus drives are regularly conducted by the Placement cell with more than 1000 students shortlisted by 150companies.

• Harnessing solar energy of up to 10 kW by mounting 80 solar panels and supplying to National grid.

• “Abhaya” helps the needy students from deprived Socio-economic background

• Vending machine and Incinerators are installed. • Eco-Club takes the responsibility of keeping the Campus clean.

• MOUs with several agencies have been entered into. • Teachers conduct Online programs and classes for students.

• Many members have contributed to Karnataka LMS.

 

• The institution has to struggle to keep pace in terms of infrastructure commensurate to the exponential growth of the student strength.

• The dropout rate of the girl students mainly due to the conservative mindsets at getting them married at the expense of their education continues.

• Potential to enhance programmes on similar lines to “Abhaya”

• Entering into moreMOUs and Collaborations.

• Potential to start new PG and UG courses.

• Making the campus eco-friendly.

 

 • Lack of Hostel facility near the college for both boys and girls.
