Krishnarajapete is at a distance of 60 kms from Mandya , the sugar city of Karnataka. This town formely known as “Attiguppe “ was infact named as Krishnarajapete in memory of His Highness Sri Krishnraja Wodeyar IV in 1891. It was under the reign of many rulers of South India such as Hoyasalas, the Vijayanagar empire, the Gangas and the Wodeyars of Mysore and hence has gained archeological as wekk as historical importance. Infact the temples in the villages such as Hosaholalu, Kikkeri, Sindhagatta around Krishnarajapete stand as a testimony to its past history.
The tough and hard terrain of Krishnarajapete was the root cause for the migration of rural masses to distant places, in search of education and employment.
