           Government First Grade College, Koppa, Maddur Taluk was established in the year 2003 with intention of imparting knowledge of higher education to the downtrodden students of Koppa Hobli.  At present the college is catering to the needs of students at BA level with HEP, HES and HEK combination and B.com.  Government First Grade College in Koppa situated at a Hobli level, Koppa Hobli is a land of many traditional and agricultural activities contributing directly to the economy of our country.  Koppa is surrounded by  rich verdure of paddy and sugarcane crops.  Sugarcane grown in these parts is the main input for NSL Sugar factory which is located 3 kms away from Koppa on the way to Maddur.  It is situated in Mandya district of Karnataka.
          GFGC caters to the educational and academic needs of the students coming mainly from agricultural families and that too from interior of rural areas.Since its inception the college has been striving towards the betterment of the young stakeholders making them accessible to higher education.It is successful in equipping the students with the required skills in achieving excellence and help them realize their dreams into reality
This Institution constantly persuades its students to achieve all around development.  The core values of the institution are being reflected in the activities it organises.  The Institution’s holistic approach in honing the students’ skills to attain academic excellence and fit themselves in to the present competitive world.

Computer Lab:

                 The College provides the best infrastructure for the students by providing as many as 10 computers with 4 printers along with broad band connectivity. The classess will be conducted with the maximum utilization of computer technology to impart soft skills. Individual care is given to the students which boosts their morale the institution has appointed a qualified computer graduate to train the students.

Library

                 The Library of the Governemnt First Grade College, Koppa was established since its inception.  The Library aims to develop a comprehensive collection of documents that is useful for the faculty students and research scholars in their education and research activities the library has a collection of 7000 books that include the publication Archives ti the present future users and periodicals which include journals magazines.  Library has also fully automated with easy libo-E library management software package with all the modules for use in the library.  Computers are installed in the library mainly to access the OPAC of the library include the internet facility.

•  Library provides Open Access System which helps easy access and use of library as a learning resources .
•  The visitors of other institution and PG centres are also allowed to have access to our library with the permission of principal
•  High Speed Internet Connectivity is available to the students and staff of the college.
