Department of Kannada Literature (OPTIONAL)

Programme Outcome

Developing intellectual, personal and professional abilities through effective communicative skills; ensuring high standard of behavioural attitude through literary subjects and shaping the students socially responsible citizens.

Programme Specific Outcome        

The students will  be  accurate  both in oral and written communication as they will be strong in Grammar and its usage.

The B.A. graduates can pursue B.Ed. course and opt teaching career in the schools. Also they can do Post Graduate Studies in their respective subjects studied in ‘Under Graduate’ level. After their Post Graduation they may do M.Phil or Ph.D. and take teaching as their career in higher education institutions like Degree colleges and Universities. Other Career options:- Journalism, Tourism, Judiciary (Law), Linguistics, etc. They are eligible to appear for any competitive exams conducted by Union Public Service Commission (UPSC), Karnataka Public Service Commission (KPSC), Indian Railway Board, etc for entering into the government services. They also pursue their studies in doing MBA, Post Graduate Diploma in Computer (PGDC), Certificate Courses of any discipline.

They can apply critical theories  toanalyze the linguistic, cultural and historical background of texts written in kannada.

They will be familiar with the conventions of diverse textual classification as fiction, non-fiction, poetry, autobiography, biography, Journal, film, plays, editorials etc. 

They will be familiar with the conventions of various textual classification in old Kannada literature.

SAHITYA SANKATHANA 1&2

The students will enable to understand the different types of textual classification in old and modern kannada literature.

They will enable to get a better cognition of literary, social, cultural, biographical and historical background of the greatest writings  in old and modern kannada literature.

SOLLARIME 1&2 – FOLKLORE

To gain knowledge on fundamental principles of Kannada grammar and its usage

PAPER V- CHANDASSU &

Pupil understand the structure, rules, works of all kind of old kannada literary forms.

PAPER VI -  BHASHA SHASTRA

To trace out the history of Kannada Language and varied components of linguistic structures of the language.

PAPER VIII – CRITICISUM

They enable to criticize the text through various methods of criticism. And applies the knowledge of scientific thinking, rational analysis etc...

Programme Outcome

Through out the history of our ancestors are analysing human nature with respect of Sociological life. Their interpretation and queries are more than one. Why the human is social being ? Why does a human live in a family? Why did he built a temple, masque and why does he pray? Why does the society transforming continually ? Is a God creation of a man or is a man created by God? These are questions comes in  our mind. Till now we are getting satisfactory answers for these questions  through some one’s inner sight, thinking capacity, imaginations, mythological stories, blind believes, folk intelligence. The science of society, social institutions and social relationships specifically , the systematic study of the development, structure, interaction and collective behaviours of organised groups of human.

INTRODUCTION OF SOCIOLOGY                                         

To introduce students to the basic social processes of society, social institutions and patterns of social behavior. 3. To train students to understand and to interpret ively the role of social processes, social institutions and social interactions in their lives.

RURAL SOCIOLOGY

Rural sociology is a field of sociology traditionally associated with the study of social structure and conflict in rural areas although topical areas such as food and agriculture or natural resource grammar and its usage.

INDIAN SOCIOLOGY

Besides its attention to some of the forgotten groups in the social world, sociology is distinctive for its focus on relationships, interactions, social processes, and contexts. Important learning goals of this unit include understanding the types of relationships sociologists study, between what social units.

SOCIOLOGICAL REASERCH METHODS

An introduction to research methods in Sociology covering quantitative, qualitative, primary and secondary data and defining the basic types of research method including social surveys, experiments, interviews, participant observation, ethnography and longitudinal studies.

POPULATION STUDIES

The specific ives to be studied are as under:- a) To analyze the growth and distribution of population. b) To Study the age and sex composition of the population. ... e) To analyze the occupational structure of the population. f) To analyze the pattern of migration and also its causes and concerns.

SOCIOLOGICAL THOUGHTS

Sociological theories are statements of how and why particular facts about the social world are related.[1] They range in scope from concise descriptions of a single social process to paradigms for analysis and interpretation. Some sociological theories explain aspects of the social world and enable prediction about future events,[2] while others function as broad perspectives which guide further sociological analyses.[

URBAN SOCIOLOGY

Urban sociology is the sociological study of life and human interaction in metropolitan areas. It is a normative discipline of sociology seeking to study the structures, environmental processes, changes and problems of an urban area and by doing so provide inputs for urban planning and policy making.
