The Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) of GFGC, Koppa functions in accordance with the guidelines of University Grants Commission (UGC) and National Action Plan of the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC). NAAC proposes that every accredited institution should establish IQAC as a post-accreditation quality sustenance measure. IQAC chiefly aims at evaluating performances, assessment and accreditation, and improving the quality of institutions of higher education. IQAC also aspires to realise its declared ‘vision statement’ in every planned activities. IQAC being a part of the institution works towards enhancing and sustaining quality in imparting education. It also contributes significantly in the post-accreditation phase of any educational institution. During the post-accreditation period it channelizes the efforts and measures of an institution towards academic excellence.
Towards the internalization and institutionalization of quality enhancement, IQAC plays a predominant role. The sense of belongingness and positive encouragement to the constituents of the institution plays a vital role in the success of IQAC. Hence, it is a facilitative and participative voluntary organ of the institution.
Our college IQAC strives hard to realise the set vision, mission and goals. Apart from this it works towards optimization and integration of technology assisted methods of teaching and learning, implementing the insights of critical pedagogy, and to some extent attempts to practice continuous and comprehensive evaluation system.
IQAC promotes the capacity and nurtures for reflective creativity, and innovation in its main stake holders of the college. It also aims at identifying and developing latent talents and potentials in both students and staff members, which will go towards strengthening and realization of the vision of the college.
IQAC also encourages dialogue and study in inter-disciplinary and multi-disciplinary areas with an outlook to promote economic vitality, environmental sustainability and quality of life in the immediate surrounding area of GFGC Koppa and beyond. Adopting, promoting and disseminating eco-friendly practices, transparency, social accountability and democratic practices occupy prime place in the functioning of IQAC. IQAC bestows its attention on cutting edge sciences, commerce and humanities to strengthen its social relevance by tuning teaching and research to suit local and global social needs. We even aspire to encourage pedagogic reforms in tune with technology and times, and in realization of declared ives of IQAC.
