The Bharat Scouts & Guides,named Kalpana Chawla Ranger Team was started in the year 2012 , by registering 48 students, as Two Ranger Unit. The Bharat Scouts & Guides is a voluntary, non-political, educational movement for young people, open to all without distinction of origin, race or creed, in accordance with the purpose, principles and method conceived by the Founder Lord Baden Powell in 1907.
Mission:
To enable girls and young women to develop their fullest potential as responsible citizens of the world.
Vision:
By 2024, The Bharat Scouts & Guides will be a globally visible, consistently growing, self-reliant premium youth movement that is gender balanced, vibrant and responsive to trends. Providing young people with value-based, attractive and challenging youth programme, through competent leaders, effective communication, optimum use of technology and efficient management.
Objectives of Scouting:
- To develop in girls personality traits of good character represented by the Scout Law
- To help the girls realize their responsibilities in citizenship by understanding their obligation to other people, society, and government
- To develop fitness of body, mind, and moral values.
Scouts approach to life has three dimensions:
- Scouts as a Spiritual Dimension – Scouts take a promise or a commitment made to see the spiritual part of everything in day to day life.
- Scouts as a Social Dimension – Scouts are being a part of the development procedure of the society, and respecting other and bringing integrity to the world.
- Scouts as a Personal Dimension – Scouts have a sense of personal responsibility.
Scouts and Guides Law:
- 1. Scouts/Guides must be trustworthy
- 2. Scouts/Guides must treat everyone as their friend and must treat other Scouts/guides as their Brother/sister
- 3. Scouts/guides should always be courteous.
- 4. Scouts/Guides should be friend to all animals and a nature lover.
- 5. Scouts/Guides must be disciplined and must help to protect public properties and other human beings.
- 6. Scouts/Guides must be thrifty.
- 7. Scouts/Guides should be pure in their thought, word and deed.
- 8. Scouts/Guides are always loyal
- 9. Scouts/Guides are very courageous.
ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Motivating our Rangers to achieve Rashtrapathi Award by enriching their skills through attending National Training Camps.
- Motivating married students to continue education.
- Motivating final year students to go for higher education.
- Motivating students to achieve good results
- Contributing financial aid to needy students.
- Organizing programmes and motivating students to take scouting exams.
- Organizing programmes to educate the students to know the importance of Career guidance.
- Organizing health programmes, such as maintaining hygiene, Sanitisation issues, menstrual issues etc.
