Students Counseling Centre : Comprises of more than 10 trained counsellors from the faculty. The counsellors reach out to the students formally and informally. Placement Cell : Extends its service to the students in career guidance, organizes lectures concerning career planning and invites companies for campus recruitment. Canteen : Provides wholesome food to the students at subsidized rates. Grievance Redressal Cell : Actively interacts with students to help them sort out their grievances. It attends to both registered and unregistered grievances of the students. Sexual Harassment Redressal Cell : Sensitizes the students to develop a healthy relationship with the opposite gender. It acts rigorously to check the transgressions of the code of conduct of the students. Legal Cell : Creates awareness of the legal issues faced by the students especially with regard to ascertaining their rights. The cell organises awareness programmes for students to help them understand the judicial system in our country. Womens Cell : This cell comprises of the Women faculty and students of the college. It attempts to solve issues faced by women at work and as students. The cell also organises awareness programmes on Womens Empowerment, Health, Legal issues etc. Nudimantapa This cell organises activities related Kannada Literature/Culture/Folklore. Science Forum This forum encourages students to imbibe scientific temper by organising various invited lectures from well known science speakers, science quiz and exhibitions. The forum oganises science day in collaboraton with Karnataka State Science and Technology Academy, Bengaluru. Com Forum This forum helps in organising commerce and management activities such as industrial visits, mock interviews and seminars. NCC The College offers training under army wing of the N.C.C. (SD) Normally the parades are conducted during the afternoon on Saturdays and regular attendance in the parades is compulsory. The N.C.C. cadets are advised to take the training with all seriousness so as to be qualified to appear for the ‘B’ & ‘C’ Certificate examinations. NSS The N.S.S. is a social service organization run by the Bangalore University. The N.S.S. wing of the College has its activities every Saturday in the afternoon. An annual camp in a village is conducted as part of the N.S.S. activities of the College. The motto or watch word of the National Service Scheme is ‘NOT ME BUT YOU’. This reflects the essence of democratic living and upholds the need for selfless service and appreciation of the other person’s point of view and also to show consideration for fellow human beings. It underlines that the welfare of an individual is ultimately dependent on the welfare of the society on the whole. Therefore, it should be the aim of the NSS to demonstrate this motto in its day-to-day Programme. Rovers Definition:-The Bharat Scouts & Guides is a voluntary, non-political, educational movement for young people, open to all without distinction of origin, race or creed ,in accordance with the purpose, principles and methods conceived by the Founder Lord Baden Powell in 1907. Purpose: The purpose of the Movement is to contribute to the development of young people in achieving their full physical, intellectual, emotional, social and spiritual potentials as individuals, as responsible citizens and as members of local, national and international communities. Redcross : The Indian Red Cross Society aims to inspire,encourage and initiate at all times all forms of humanitarian activities so that human suffering can be minimized, alleviated and even prevented and thus contribute to creating a more congenial climate for peace. Red Ribbon The Red Ribbon Foundation promotes awareness of HIV/AIDS and supports premiere organizations with promising ideas for preventing the spread of HIV. |
