About College

Government First Grade College Kavoor, Mangaluru was established in the year 2002
by the Department of Collegiate Education , Government of Karnataka with an intention of
reaching higher education to the weaker section of the society. The college has been affiliated
to Mangalore University and recognized by the UGC under Section 2(F).
Kavoor is a semi – urban area situated in the outskirt of Mangalore City Corporation in
the midst of calm and quite green environment on the costal belt of Mangaluru city. The college
has 4 acres of land. In the inception stage the college was started in a rented building in Kavoor
city for two years. Now the college has a well established building in its own land at
Gandhinagar, Kavoor with sufficient number of Class rooms and all other basic amenities.
The college provides education in Arts, Commerce and Business Administration
disciplines at the Under Graduation level. In addition to the formal education, the institution
also provides opportunities to the upcoming youths to develop their all-round development
through co – curricular and extra - curricular activities to make them independent.
The college is functioning with 11 permanent staffs including a staff on deputation from
Private Aided College, who tirelessly support the students in realizing their life goals. The
library of the college with sufficient number of books functioning well under the able
supervision of the Physical Education Director.
