Government First Grade College, Kadugudi, Bangalore-67, is an institution affiliated to Bangalore University, which comes under the purview of the Department of Collegiate Education, Government of Karnataka. The college got affiliated to Bangalore University during the Academic Year 2009-10. With this affiliation college was authorized to start three Under Graduate courses BA, B.Com, and BBM. Later during 2010-11 the college started B.Sc, course with PMCS and PCM combinations.
The college is located in the Semi-Urban part of the city of Bangalore. Since it is Semi-Urban the college receives heterogeneous student crowd with the mixture of urban and rural students. Most of the students getting admitted to the college belong to SC/ST/OBC and lower economic classes of the society. The College, with its missionary zeal, aims at providing to rural students education par excellence while underlining set of norms, values, and beliefs augmenting meaningful student involvement; with a clear emphasis on both curricular and extra-curricular focus contextualizing teaching-learning in rural college with a sense of social responsibility.
The college is recognized as a premier institution in the locality with good results since inception. During the Academic year 2012-13 college received good results and a final year student by name Ms. Chaitra scored cent percent in a subject called Income Tax. During the Academic Year 2012-13 the college has an enrolment of 463 students out of which 243 are women; it indicates that more than 50% of the students comprise women. The college accommodates 178 students belonging to Scheduled Caste, 24 students pertaining to Scheduled Tribe and 99 belonging to OBC category. This is a clear indication of college catering to the lower economic sections of the society. Therefore, the current IDP clearly emphasizes on the overall development of such economically weaker sections of the society. It is prepared envisaging the requirements of such students.
