GOVERNMENT FIRST GRADE COLLEGE JAVAGAL
Government First Grade College Javagal was established in the year 1991. It is situated in Javagal village, Arasikere Taluk, Hassan district in the southern state of Karnataka. The Lakshminarasimha temple at Javagal is an example of mid-13th century Hoysala architecture. It is located about 12km from Halebidu capital of Hoysala Empire.The college is connected by National Highway 73 which is convenient to access for students. The college has been promoting the cause of value based higher education to rural students since 1991.
The college is permanently affiliated to University of Mysore. The college has got the recognition of 2(f) & 12(B) of the UGC act, 1956 on 15th march 2016.The college has also adapted the University’s Choice Based Credit System (CBCS) scheme in the year 2018 and NEP in 2021 onwards. The college offers under graduate courses in BA & Bcom programmes. In addition to this, the college also offers certificate courses for students.
College has an enriched library with latest books, journals in Humanities and Commerce subjects. The college has been running in its own building consisting of 9 classrooms out of four that have an LCD projector, one computer lab, and a seminar hall with ICT facilities. For the safety of students, the college has CCTV surveillance.
College helps students to realize their goals and achieve them effectively with experienced and dedicated teachers. Apart from this the convenient location, spacious classrooms, healthy teaching-learning environment and various committees managed by the staff members have assisted in developing the right temperament of the students. The strong community involvement and a commitment to community services through National Service Scheme (NSS), The Bharat Scout and Guides, Youth Red Cross, Placement cell, Cultural, and sports committee, literary and value-added programs and achievements in humanities provide each of our students with an avenue for personal growth. Many of our students have been successful in bagging Taluk level prizes in academic achievements.
