Grievance Redressal Cell: It is a mechanism to deal with the specific problems and grievances of the students. The students can register their grievances in writing. The teacher in charge of the cell along with the Principal attends to the grievance of the students. Suggestions are also invited from students and a separate suggestion box is kept for the purpose.The aim of the Grievance Cell is to develop a responsive and accountable attitude among all the stakeholders in order to maintain a harmonious educational atmosphere in the college. Mentor System: This system places about 50 students under each teacher who takes care and monitors the academic and psychological needs of their wards. The teacher is in constant touch with the students and monitors the students. Many times students are referred to trained student counsellors for further action. Women's Cell: Women’s cell is an active cell in the college to empower girl students, to enhance understanding of issues related to women and to make the college campus a safe place for girl students and faculty members. The cell aims at creating awareness of their rights and duties. It also provides a platform for women to share their experiences and views regarding their status in the society and to suggest ways to improve and empower themselves. The cell stands for facilitating women’s empowerment through guest lectures, seminars, awareness programmes and other welfare activities. Many courses to empower the girls like jewellery making, making of files, paper bags, penholders and boxes are organized under the Women's Cell Discipline Committee: The Discipline Committee was created to resolve complaints of alleged violations of policies and community standards by a student or former student. The Committee holds the power to hear cases and to decide the appropriate response. The members of the committee ensure that the students attend the classes regularly and behave in a disciplined manner in the campus. The committee comprises of senior teachers and senior student representatives. Anti-Ragging Cell: Anti Ragging Committee consists of senior faculty and is headed by the Principal. The Committee has taken appropriate steps and allotted duties to all the staff members at almost all areas in the college (i.e. parking places, different blocks, play grounds etc.) to ensure that at least one faculty member will be present at any particular time at all the locations to avoid ragging activities. Wide canvassing about anti-ragging is being done. Cultural Committee: The Cultural Committee of our college boosts the cultural diversity in the campus by creating a folk environment Cultural week is organized so that students can exhibit their talents through inter class competitions. Ethnic day is celebrated with great enthusiasm by both teachers and students. Annual day celebrations create a platform to all the students to exhibit their inherent talents. National Service Scheme (NSS): It is a community service program .The Objective of the N.S.S is development of the personality of student through Community Service National Cadet Corps (NCC): The NCC has a wing in our college under 2KAR BN NCC. It has strength of 105 cadets who are trained every week. They are sent to several camps which help them to boost their confidence and self discipline Counselling Cell: The counselling cell provides counselling services to the students. It believes in the fact that sound mind dwells in the sound body. Most of the students who come to our college belong to lower economic strata, broken families where girls are given less privilege. To support such students and to make them realise their goals, the Cell has the team of trained counselor's who are available to the students. Various lectures by experts related to the area of stress management, positive thinking, self esteem etc. are arranged by the Cell. Wall Magazine: “Hosa Chinthane” is a theme based Wall Magazine. It provides a platform for the students to express their views on the themes decided for the month through articles, poems, drawings, collage etc. Eco Club: Eco Club plays an important role in creating environmental awareness amongst the future generation The activities under the scheme include:Motivating the students to keep their surroundings green and clean by undertaking plantation of trees. Sensitizing the students to minimize the use of plastic bags, not to throw them in public places. Organizing tree plantation programmes, awareness programmes such as Quiz, essay, painting competitions, etc. regarding various environmental issues and educate children about re-use of waste material & preparation of products out of waste. |
