About The College:
The Government Law College Hassan was established on 25.05.2007. The Bar Council of India has approved its affiliation by the Karnataka Law University, Hubballi vide its letter No.2244:2012 dated 24.11.2012. The College is being run by funds provided by the Government of Karnataka. The College has developed vision and mission statements which have been communicated to all the stakeholders. To make law education accessible to all those scattered geographically, socially and economically, a concrete developmental plan is a welcome step. Our institution is endeavoring to enhance skill based legal education to its stakeholders. In this regard, the institution will continue its projects like community legal aid services, mediation, arbitration and conciliation especially in rural places. Legal skills like pleading, drafting, framing of issues, examination of witnesses, arguments, judgment writing etc, are undertaken in different action plans on individual basis to effectuate the skill learning among the stakeholders. The Government Law College Hassan is a unique centre of learning in this part of a state with highly subsidized legal education facility to the students possessing 10+2 qualification. This institution has been drawing the students from all parts of the district and neighboring districts with its congenial learning atmosphere. The factors like gender, geographical location, social and economical strata have not been obstacles for the students to enter this institution. At present 252 students are studying in the B A. LL. B Course (5 Years), exhibiting a typical example of specialized co- educational institute. The College has been included under 2(f) of UGC Act.
