NATIONAL CADET CORPS ACTIVITIES
NCC is one of the huge youth organizations in India which mould the youth of the country to better citizens of tomorrow. The NCC came into existence on 16th July in initial strength of 38305 cadets. Today its strength has risen to more than the initial strength. The Motto of the NCC is “Unity and Discipline” which was adapted on 23rd June living up to its motto the NCC Strives to be and is one of the great cohesive of our nation, bringing together the youth hailing from different parts of our country including them into united, secular, and disciplined citizen of our nation.
NCC unit in Government Science College was raised in the year 1962.Presently it is under 33 Karnataka Battalion Davanagere.

National Cadet Corps is a youth organization under the Minister of Defense which provides all round development for youths with a sense of duty, commitment, dedication, discipline and moral values. In the academic year 2016-17 to 2020-21, our College unit of NCC has strength of 104 cadets yearly under 33 KR BN NCC, Davanagere. During these years the NCC Unit conducted different programs and engaged in different social service activities. A brief account is given below.
- Camps are integral part of NCC. Many cadets participated in Thal Sainik Camp, CATC, ATC, RDC Camp and Special Camps etc.
- International Yoga Day was celebrated at St Joseph School on 21st June 2019 under the guidance of 33 KAR BN NCC. Around 300 Cadets from different colleges and schools participated in the program. Yoga instructor explained the different asanas in yoga and their advantages. Under her guidance all participants practiced yoga for an hour.
- Tree Plantation Drive was conducted where 10 new saplings were planted in the college campus. Now these saplings have grown and survived.
- The NCC cadets of Government Science College organized cleanliness drive under SWATCHH BHARAT SWASTH BHARAT ABHIYAN. The main purpose of this program was to create awareness among the NCC cadets regarding cleanliness and its benefits. Our principal started the program by cleaning the corners of the playground. All the cadets took pledge to clean our college campus and to make our city smart and clean.
