SWOC Analysis

            Strength:

• Well organized library resources: Books, Journals, Magazines and Newspapers.
• Good number of reference and circulation books in all the departments.
• Good collection and access of E-Journals and E-Books.
• The library is automated using E-granthalaya as Library Management Software Database with OPAC facility.
• Librarian has good ICT knowledge.

Weakness:

• Lack of library budget
• Independent Library Building is not there.
• Less collection of Research oriented resources.
• Lack of library supportive staff

Opportunities:

• Conduct more special lectures in LIS.
• Increase usage of library resources.
• Increase library resources in both print and non-print.

Challenges:

• Improvement in collection of books and journals.
• Providing scope for information movement.
• Introducing Digital Library.

Future Plans.

• Introduce institutional repository system to have all the publications by faculty members in the institution.
• Strengthen the library collection to meet the needs of users in their academic and research activities.
• Introduce Classification system to organize resources in the library.
• Conduct more user orientation programs to make users to use library resources effectively.
• Start Library Resource Sharing with other libraries by MOU.
• Conduct seminar/conference/workshop in LIS.
