The college is affiliated to Bengaluru University, Jnanabharathi, Bengaluru since 2001. The college discharges its functions according to rules and regulations established by Bengaluru North University and amended from time to time and orders issued by Commissioner, Department of Collegiate Education, Government of Karnataka.

Activities:

• The major activities are in accordance with the Vision and Mission of the college that to empower women.
• The college provides education up to UG and PG to the students of all sectors of the community.
• The college organizes employment orientation programs to students and also employment opportunities through campus interviews.
• Communal harmony is established through NSS, NCC, sports, cultural programs and extension activities.
• The college provides quality education, skill training and awareness building programs to uplift of socially and economically suppressed students.

The Government College for Women is affiliated to Bangalore North University, Thamaka, Kolar since 2016-17 the college comes under the Department of Collegiate Education and run under the ministry of Higher Education, Government of Karnataka. Hence all financial transactions are audited by Commissioner, Department of Collegiate Education and Accountant General. The college has different cells and committees to maintain all types of discipline in the campus. All the cells committees of the institution are under statutory bodies and came under section 4(1)(b) of RTI act 2005.
