Prevention of Sexual Harassment

1. POSH Cell

 Government College for Women, Chintamani has formed an Anti-Sexual Harassment Cell in accordance with UGC and Supreme Court standards in order to promote a healthy and welcoming environment for the College's employees and students. The cell was formed with four primary goals in mind:

1. Create guidelines and a policy for dealing with sexual harassment.

2. To create guidelines and processes for dealing with sexual harassment.

3. To figure out the specifics of a policy's implementation.

4. To create a thorough action plan.

The Committee shall have the following Functions, Powers and Responsibilities.

1. Encourage policies that promote gender equality, eliminate gender prejudice or discrimination, and eliminate sexual harassment and other forms of gender-based violence.

2. Organize sexual harassment and gender-based discrimination awareness programmes and campaigns for the benefit of all college members.

3. Follow the Supreme Court's orders and recommendations to ensure an academic and professional environment devoid of sexual harassment and gender-based discrimination.

4. Receive and address allegations of sexual harassment by other members of the college (staff and students) as well as strangers on college grounds.

5. Recognize any incident of sexual harassment or gender-based discrimination on the college campus on an ad hoc basis and take appropriate action.

6. Conduct a formal investigation into each complaint, examine and make a decision on each one, and propose suitable punishment or action to the relevant authorities in each case.

7. In the process of completing its tasks, enlist the help of a professional or other specialists.

8. Maintain absolute confidentiality of all information relating to complaints filed, as well as the procedures and conclusions of any inquiries and/or investigations.
