Government First Grade College for Women, Chikkaballapur is located at M G Road Chikkaballapur, 562101. The institution is affiliated to Bengaluru North University, Kolar. Chikkaballapur district was created in 2007. The famous Nandi Hills is also a part of the district. It is also the birth place of Sir. Mokshagondam Vishweswaraya, the visionary statesman who was bestowed with Bharath Ratna. The institution was established in 1988 as an evening college, as a part of Municipal entity of Chikkaballapur. The institution became a part of the setup of Government First Grade Colleges as Government First Grade College for Women, Chikkaballapur in 2009 with the Government order No. ED 147/UPC/2007, Dated: 30- 11-2009. The college was started with 60 students offering courses like, B.A (HEP, HEK, HES, HEE) B.com, and BBM under affiliation of Bangalore University. The institution is affiliated to Bengaluru North University with the strength of 539 students pursuing BA, B.com and BBA Program. The institution believes in delivering quality education through the best learning opportunities to the female students with rural background. The college is keen to extend the possibilities of acquisition of higher education to the remote parts of Chikkaballapur in an urge to promote the holistic approach of the Government. The institution adheres to the rules laid by the Directorate of Collegiate Education, Government of Karnataka. The college strives to enable the students to front up the challenges and to impart the values in them. The institution goes all out to inspire and motivate the students to go for higher education. In a similar vein, the college plays an important role in illuminating the parents about the significance of higher education with regards to girls in the current situation. As a result, a number of our students are employed. This phenomenon indicates the Vision of the college. The government has sanctioned 2.06 acres of land to the institution near the district administrative office in 2014. But the construction work is still in progress. At present the institution is working in two campuses i.e. BA in Government First Grade College Chikkaballapur and B Com and BBA in Citizen Club. The NAAC accreditation has opened the doors of new opportunities for the growth of the institution
