About Us

The Government First Grade College, Bettampady was established in 1991 by the Govt. of Karnataka to cater the needs of economically and socially backward people of Puttur taluk. Bettampady is a rural village in Puttur Taluk in D.K. dist, 14Kms away from Taluk centre, Puttur. College has 7.2 acres of land and has own building.

The college has laid down its aims and ives, keeping in view the vision statement of Directorate of Collegiate Education, Govt. of Karnataka. The college is located in Karnataka - Kerala border area, where majority of the people belong to socially and economically backward classes.

The Government First Grade College, Bettampady is affiliated to Mangalore University and also recognized by the UGC under its 2(f) and 12(b) sections. NAAC assessed the college in 2011 and has given 'B' status.

1.To provide higher education to the rural, economically and socially backward students of this (Karnataka-Kerala Border) area, at a minimum feasible cost.
2.To provide the opportunities to the students to develop self confidence and scientific temper and to exhibit their talents and creativity.
3.To equip them with suitable knowledge and skills needed for pursuing employment in their chosen areas.
4.To inculcate discipline and a spirit of self help and cooperation among the students in order to make them better citizens.
5.To provide the rural female students an access to higher education, so as to help them to become self sustaining and self confident.
