| The Government First Grade College, Bellare was established by the Government of Karnataka in 1991.It is a privilege that this college is named after Dr.K. Shivarama Karantha, the Jnanapeet awardee in1998 and one of the prominent and creative writers of Kannada Literature. Our College is located in a village called Peruvaje near Bellare town which is a rural backward area of SulliaTaluk in Dakshina Kannada District. Our college provides the opportunity for higher education to the rural youth. At present the college is having UG courses such as B.A (HEP, HES), B.Com, BSW. During the academic year 2015-16 our institution started M.Com and MSW postgraduate courses. In future the College wishes to start more UG and PG courses. Now our college has put behind 28 fruitful academic years. This college is a unique example for public and private collaboration also. Two academic blocks are donated by local philanthropists namely Mattathadka Keshava Bhat and Thadagaje Sanjeeva Shetty. The College is situated nearly 80kms away from Mangalore and 38 km westfrom the famous pilgrimage center called Kukke Subrhamanya. LOCATION |
