| Government First Grade College Bannur is situated at Maliyuru Village limits. Malaiyuru Village is 5 Km away from Bannur town municipality. The institution is encircled by, T.Narsipura, Malavalli, Mysore, and Mandya taluks and districts respectively. Institution is surrounded by 73 Villages. The Maliyuru village is 31 kilometers away from Mysore, the heritage city of the state and 123 kilometers away from Bangalore, capital of the state. The Institution has nomenclature as Government First Grade College – Bannuru because it had humble footstep in Bannuru Town temporarily in the year 2006. In the year 2004 Institution moved permanently to Maliyuru Village limits. The college is epic in and around villages as well as nearby towns. The institution established in the year 1996. The students enrollment to the institution was only 58 then. The current strength of the institution is 758 which shows the hallmark of quality education imparted to rural folks. The institution is spread across 10 acres of Government land. Infrastructure wise institution has spacious class rooms, Computer lab, Geography lab, math lab, Physics lab, Edusat Room, Reading room and spacious sports ground. 75% of classrooms are equipped with ICT. Institution offers BA, B.Com, B.Sc and BBA undergraduate courses. All the courses are permanently affiliated to the University of Mysore.
