Government First Grade College Banavara

The college was established in the year 2007 with two programs and the student strength of 65 in small building of primary school in order to spread the light of education amongst the rural youth especially the underprivileged, down trodden and women community. Later the college is shifted to own building in 2012. Now the college offers three programs like BA(Arts), BCom(Commerce), and BBA(Management). As of now about 719 students are pursuing their education in the college and this number will improve in the coming years. The girls constitute about 57% of our student strength. The College though located in a rural area is the leading college of the Taluk in terms of high Pass percentage, number of meritorious students and student strength. The academic success has been attained despite very small staff strength of just 8. The college is attracting the students from all directions. The college is not only famous for its academic education but has offered a platform to students to grow in all directions. The college is focusing on holistic development of its student community. The college is aiming at the development of IQ as well as EQ of the students.  The institution is trying to sow the seeds of morale amongst the future citizens of the country through mentoring system. The institution has formed a various committees led by dedicated staff. The institution is dashing through all odds under able leadership of the Principal. All the staff of the college is doing their best to bring out the best from the student community. The college has all necessary infrastructures.

We aspire to take our institution to a new height by providing quality education to the rural poor, downtrodden and girl students in particular while expanding our academic horizons to bring the institution on par with the leaders in the field of higher education of urban areas.
