About Us

Government First Grade college, Badavanahally is Started in 2007, the primary aim of this college was to provide quality to education to rural students in this region. It was envisaged as an important step in the goal of equity and inclusiveness. The college provides a calm and serene environment for the pursuit of academics.

The College is permanently affiliated to Tumkur University since 2007. In the beginning there were only 24 Students. At present there are 252 Students pursuing their Higher Education. In addition to fruitful academic accomplishments by means of seminars and projects, students gain experience in extra-curricular activities like NSS, sports, Red Cross, Heritage club, scouts and guides etc., for a more holistic development of their personalities. With a majority of rural students having limited exposure to the competitive world, this college aims to provide meaningful and quality – based Education in making them compete with the challenges of the present situation.

Upholding the college motto which believes that education leads to overall development the college ensures quality education to its students. It ensures that the students are not only educated but are also liberated through education. Education frees them from the shackles of ignorance superstition, caste, creed, religion and gender, taking them into free and thinking individuals. So that they become self dependent and self reliant individuals The College does not merely equip them to face examinations but also leads them towards successful and meaningful lives becoming responsible citizens of the country.

The College is running in a newly constructed building and with new grants being released by the govt. the construction of sufficient number of rooms is going on. The next goal is to provide basic facilities and create proper infrastructure so that the students make use of the opportunity to complete their Higher Education.
