Badami is one of the important sites of International Tourism, recently recognized as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO which was called as Vatapi during the Rule of Chalukyan Dynasty. It was the royal capital of the Badami Chalukyas from CE 540 to 757. It is a town and headquarter of the taluk by the same name in the Bagalkot district of Karnataka, India. It is famous for its rock-cut structural cave-temples, Banashankari temple and architectural monuments of Pattadakallu and Aihole.
Government First Grade College, Badami was established in 2007. It is established to serve higher education to all rural and town students of different areas of Badami taluk. At present the college is running in the MLA Model Government Higher Primary School No. 1, Laxmi Nagar Badami.
